The short answer. Joe Henricks (Founder, OSHA 500 trainer, BCSP ASP and CHST, CICTI instructor, 2025 ASSP Safety Professional of the Year) and Fred Wilton (Co-Founder, BCSP Certified Safety Professional, LEED AP, B.S. Safety Science Indiana University of Pennsylvania 1997). Between them: an active stadium build on the Las Vegas Strip, ongoing program work at SoFi Stadium, ICRA-aligned hospital construction, and 25+ years of West Coast construction-safety leadership including the $480M Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital.

Joe Henricks is the founder of Professional Safety & Management and the lead instructor for Granite Safety. He personally holds the OSHA 500 Authorized Trainer credential, is BCSP-credentialed (ASP and CHST), an ASSP member, and a CICTI instructor for ICRA-aligned healthcare construction infection control.

Joe is on a job site this week. He directly supervises safety on the Athletics' new Las Vegas Stadium — a $2 billion, 33,000-seat domed ballpark on the Strip targeting a 2028 MLB opening, built by the Mortenson-McCarthy joint venture (ESPN, December 2025). He also runs an ongoing safety program at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California — a 70,240-seat venue that hosted Super Bowl LVI and is slated to co-host the 2028 Olympic Opening Ceremony with the LA Memorial Coliseum, the first dual-venue Opening Ceremony in modern Games history (SoFi Stadium / LA28, 2025).

The healthcare side of the practice is ICRA. Joe's CICTI authorization lets him deliver the Carpenters International Construction Training Institute curriculum used to train construction crews working in active healthcare environments — containment, negative-pressure barriers, HEPA filtration, traffic control, and the protocols that keep immunocompromised patients safe during active construction. ICRA 2.0 was released by ASHE in 2020 as a comprehensive update to the original framework (ASHE, 2020); over 570 U.S. healthcare locations require ICRA-certified workers on construction and renovation projects today.

The 2025 ASSP Safety Professional of the Year recognition sits on top of fifteen-plus years of construction-safety leadership. Joe writes and reviews the Granite Safety curriculum the way he runs a job site — present-tense, specific, anti-jargon. The training carries the same discipline as the daily pre-task plan he runs at the gate.

Fred Wilton is the co-founder of Granite Safety and a Board of Certified Safety Professionals Certified Safety Professional — BCSP credential #21405. The CSP is the gold standard for occupational safety in the United States; it requires a qualifying degree, professional safety experience, a separate prerequisite credential, and passing a board examination (BCSP, 2026). Fred also holds the LEED AP credential through the U.S. Green Building Council.

Fred earned a B.S. in Safety Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1997 and has spent the 25-plus years since inside the construction-safety practice. He started in OSHA inspection representation at Miller Safety Consulting in Denver — well over 100 inspections across audits, accident investigations, and training. From 2005 to 2011 he ran safety at Haselden Construction in Colorado, beginning as a site safety engineer on a 30-story Denver remodel and rising to Safety Manager across 15 concurrent projects in three states.

From 2011 to 2015 Fred was at Clark Construction. He served as the lead Site Safety and Health Officer on the $480 million Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital — the kind of mission-critical federal healthcare project where a containment failure has consequences that go beyond the schedule. Within six months he was promoted to Western Regional Safety Director, supervising 14 safety professionals across California, Washington, and Nevada while Clark was running roughly $1.2 billion a year of West Coast construction. He went to FDR Safety as their Western U.S. operations lead in 2015 and founded Synergy Safety Solutions in 2017.

Fred is a regular instructor for the OSHA Training Institute Education Center at Cal State Dominguez Hills. He has appeared in over fifteen expert-witness matters in the past three years involving depositions, opinion letters, testimony, and Cal/OSHA hearings. The Granite Safety curriculum is reviewed against his audit and expert-witness experience — the goal is content a regulator could read on the stand without needing a translator.
