The short answer. The 10-Hour Construction curriculum is the entry-level safety orientation for construction workers, built to OSHA Outreach 10-Hour Construction standards. Federal OSHA Outreach card issuance is on the platform launch roadmap; current students receive a verifiable course-completion certificate. Joe Henricks personally holds OSHA 500 Authorized Trainer credentials.

This is the orientation a construction worker needs on day one. It focuses on the hazards that actually kill people on a U.S. construction site — falls, struck-by, caught-in or -between, electrocution — and the PPE and procedures that prevent them. Falls killed 389 construction workers in 2024, about 38% of all construction fatalities (BLS / Construction Dive, 2024). Fall Protection has been OSHA's most-cited standard fifteen years running.

The Granite Safety version of the course is taught with examples from active stadium and hospital construction. The trade contractors and foremen our crews work next to wrote the scenarios in the assessments. Every certificate prints with a public verification URL — owners and inspectors check it in one click.

Who it's for

Entry-level construction workers, helpers, apprentices, and any worker whose owner or general contractor requires a 10-Hour Construction credential for site access. If you supervise crews, take the 30-Hour Construction course instead — the 10-Hour curriculum is not a substitute for the supervisor-grade orientation.

Certificate validity — federal vs state plans

Federal OSHA Outreach cards (issued by OSHA-authorized trainers) are recognized in all 50 U.S. states and valid five years from the date of issue. Granite Safety's curriculum is built to those standards; federal Outreach card issuance is on our platform launch roadmap. Cal/OSHA, New York City SST, Nevada, and Massachusetts each carry state-plan add-ons. We flag them during enrollment. Read the state validity FAQ.
